Always Remember Him

Brothers and Sisters,

I have been reflecting on the sacred promise we make each week as we partake of the sacrament—to Always Remember Him.

President Dallin H. Oaks taught, "Following Christ is not a casual or occasional practice. It is a continuous commitment and away of life that should guide us at all times and in all places." Following the Savior requires intentional effort. It is a daily, conscious choice to align our thoughts, words, and actions with His example.

Each week, as we take the sacrament, we renew our baptismal covenants with the promise to Always Remember Him. This remembrance is more than reflection; it is action. It shapes how we treat others, how we serve, how we repent, and how we endure.

My prayer is that as a stake we will strive to live with greater intentionality in remembering the Savior—not only on the Sabbath, but in every part of our lives. May we declutter our lives and allow the Savior to be at the center of all we do. There are many good things in the world today, and many of us fill our time and lives with good things; but if we continually fill every minute of the day, we many unintentionally crowd out the quiet moments where the savior teaches, guides, and strengthens us. As we create space for Him and honor our covenants more fully, we will feel His power more fully and experience greater peace, strength, and direction.

We love each of you and are deeply grateful for your discipleship to the Savior, Jesus Christ. I testify that He lives, that His gospel brings peace and hope, and that as we turn our hearts to Him, we will find true and lasting joy.

With love and gratitude,

President Nolan Stewart
