Called to Serve
Elder Warner
Kirtland 3rd Ward
Dominican Republic Santiago Mission
From Noah:
I'm having an incredible time on my mission in the Dominican Republic!
One valuable lesson I've learned over the past two months is the importance of focusing on the basics. A scripture that's been on my heart is D&C 11:21, which reminds me to seek the Lord's word before declaring it. I've been prioritizing personal study, diving into the Book of Mormon and Preach My Gospel daily. As I prepare to teach others, I'm learning to internalize the gospel's fundamentals and share them in Spanish, a new language for me.
It's been a blessing to watch my testimony grow as I strive to understand and share the Lord's message with others.
D&C 11: 21 - "Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men."

Hathaway
Singapore Mission
April 2024-October2025

We served as humanitarian missionaries in the Singapore Mission April 1, 2024, to October 1, 2025. We were on the island of Borneo and served for 14 months in Sarawak, East Malaysia and then 4 months in Sabah, East Malaysia. Our service focused on projects for WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Schools/Education, Health/Disabilities, Medical Equipment, and Emergencies. We personally implemented 37 new projects in addition to 30 ongoing projects . The people of East Malaysia welcomed us and treated us with great respect and kindness. There are no stakes in East Malaysia, but the branch members are faithful and dedicated. Larry served in the District Presidency in Kuching and I served as YW president in our branch. We facilitated the temple preparation class in the Kota Kinabalu branch. These assignments (along with supporting the young missionaries) filled our days and nights. One of our favorite projects was the renovation of a block of classrooms at a school for over 800 beautiful students. They were so appreciative and respectful. Another consequential project was for a clinic in rural Sematan. They told us they had been asking for the needed medical equipment for over 12 years! So needless to say, when we were able to provide them with the requested equipment, they were beyond grateful. All of our projects brought a great sense of satisfaction and an overwhelming sense of humility as we were able to represent the Church in doing the Lord's work. A particular highlight for us came in February when we were able to assist and accompany a young family in Kuching (who had been trying to get to the temple since before COVID) to get to the Bangkok temple and receive their ordinances and be sealed. We experienced the same great spiritual boost in September when we attended the Manila temple with our branch and Elder Hathaway was proxy for a family's deceased son as their family was sealed. An added bonus for us was teaching and participating in the conversion and baptisms of two special friends we made in Kuching. Our mission expanded beyond humanitarian work. We saw the Lord's hand in all aspects of our service. We have been so blessed; it was a privilege for us to be representatives of Jesus Christ whom we love.
